Catalogue

I made 4 artist catalogues to send. Kinda expensive to make but it does look better then my home printer. The only thing that bothers me is that I didn't adjust the photos right. If I have to make new batch, I'll definately have to re-adjust the photos inside.

Other then that, I think it's ok. I hope I'll get some good news with these.

It was interesting making a book/catalogue for the first time on my own. I think I could do better next time.

Now I have to pack, send, and start rebuilding my old crappy website. I wish I knew someone who's good with web design so they can help me out...*sigh.

I should go and buy some web design tutorial books for reference.

mundane daily scribble

Although my work place is close to HongDae, I didn't get the chance to sit at some cute cafe and enjoy. The only time I did that was with Monika. Usually I come straight home exhausted.

However, tomorrow I get to roam around HongDae to take pictures of the bags I designed so we can upload the product images on online stores. I hope the weather will be nice. I'll bring some outfits to work for the photo shoot.

so so tired and ready to collapse like a corpse. but being insomniac I wonder if sleep will fall down on me like a soft blanket or I'll end up tossing right and left with too many bothersome thoughts...

all is good. it was a hot summer day in Seoul. Having a pint of beer with a friend after a long day was rewarding.

Fatigue mixed with summer heat feels like a drug...you can't think straight...and I'm kinda enjoying the delirium of it all.

Bonbon & Chico

It's rainy season in Korea and my birds are lounging inside of my oversize cotton bag. I think they find it cozy in there and don't want to come out.

I'm excited about monday but it makes me feel sad that I won't be able to spend much time with B & C.

vintage paper doll

When I was little, I used to buy tons of these paper dolls.

I would ask my grandma to cut them for me but she quickly gave up since there were too many. I ended up cutting them myself and I remember being very cautious following the black outline.

I made paper closets origami to keep them nicely and I would cut things - food, appliance, make up etc - for them from my mom's women's magazine. Sometimes, the neck or arm part would wear off so I made sure to re-enforce it with extra paper and tape on the back.

I was playing with them one day by this fire stove and forgot to clean up and went outside. When I came back, my grand ma burned them without noticing. I cried so much that day.

Sweet Parrot

I hate seeing birds used as display ornament in stores. I wish there was a law against it. Most birds I saw in stores live in bad stressful condition. It seems like people who have them there don't think of them as anything more then to attract customers.

This parrot was so sweet and lonely. I sticked my finger in between the bar and the bird grabbed it gently with its feet . It was difficult to let go of it since the bird clearly needed social interaction.

Its toenails were all crooked or off due to self harming and stress, the cage was dirty. It really pains my heart when I think of this bird...

And it was smart too, it kept calling out "yo yo" and "sarang hae yo (I Love you)"

I asked the guy there if he is willing to sell but he said something like the owner is someone else.

I really wish I could have brought it home with me...It deserves so much care and love...
